Ciab’s Organization Comitee is going to promote, one more time, a Road Show throughout Latin America. On April 14th, the group from Febraban will visit Mexico City. On the following days (April 15th and 16th) the delegation is going to visit Bogota (Colombia) and Caracas (Venezuela).
The Road Show will also visit other capitals in the continent: Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Montevidéu (Uruguai), Quito (Equador), Lima (Peru), and La Paz (Bolívia). These visits are supported by the local bankers associations and they are sponsored by the following companies: Itautec, IBM, Perto, Eversystems, and HP.
The Road Show has two goals: the first is to stimulate initiatives that improve the bank access, specially by the poorest people, in the region. The second is to give more visibility to the Ciab Febraban, the biggest IT event in the Latin America.
The visit to México City is supported by Associación Mexicana de Bancos. In Colombia, the visit is supported by Associación Bancária y de Entidades Financieras de Colombia. In all visits, the themes are the following: Bancarization and non Banking Correspondents; Prevention of Money Laundering; ATMS Outsoucing; Information Security and Mobile Banking.
The Biggest Edition
Ciab Febraban will have, in 2008, a record of sponsors. So far, there are 17 companies – at the same time, in 2007, there were seven. Moreover, 82 stands were commercialized, for the 18th edition of the biggest bank event of Americas.
The sponsors were divided in three categories: Diamond (Contax, Itautec, Diebold Procomp, Oi, IBM, Perto, HP, and CPM Braxis), Gold (EMC, CA, Microsoft, CSC BRASIL, and DTS) and Silver (Mastercard, EDS, ATP and CA). Serasa will be, one more time, co-sponsor.
The subject of the event will be Technology and Security. Ciab will take place on June 11-13, at Transamerica Expocenter, in São Paulo.
The previous editions registered an average of 1,5 thousand participants, 16 thousand visitors and 80 exhibiters. In 2007, congress had 27 foreign keynote speakers and 55 Brazilian lectures.
Beside the security issue, the event will debate other subjects, like the evolution of the payment systems, sustainability, the evolution of the Brazilian economy and marketing.
